Point Grey Research Inc. (PGR) is a worldwide leader in the development
of advanced digital camera technology products. With a number of local distributors throughout the world, Point Grey designs, manufactures and distributes IEEE-1394 cameras, stereo vision cameras and spherical digital video cameras to a broad spectrum of industries. Through a
close working relationship with its customers, Point Grey continues
to be at the forefront of innovation.
The Company was founded in January of 1997 as a spin-off
from the Laboratory for Computational Intelligence (LCI) at
the University of British Columbia (UBC) and the Institute
for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (IRIS). The founders
and principals of the company are all graduates from
UBC. Point Grey has extensive experience
in other areas of computer vision, such as object modeling
and tracking. In addition, Point Grey has a broad range of hardware
and software engineering skills. These skills allow Point Grey to
produce complete, low-cost, real-time solutions including
customized hardware design, embedded, low-level and high-level
software.
