Point Grey Research's Imaging Products line includes all of our single-lens IEEE-1394 (FireWire) and 1394b CCD and CMOS cameras. All Imaging Products are provided as a complete hardware and software system. The FlyCapture® Software Development Kit provides a common software interface to control all Point Grey Imaging Products and is currently bundled with every imaging product.

The Firefly® MV camera is a small, inexpensive and easy-to-use IEEE-1394 digital camera designed for machine vision applications. With a 25x40mm board-level footprint and external trigger and strobe functionality, the Firefly MV is ideal for industrial imaging applications.

Sensor: Micron 1/3" global shutter CMOS, Color/BW
Resolution: Wide-VGA 640x480 (maximum 752x480)
Frame Rates: 640x480 at 60 FPS (Format_7: 320x240 120 FPS)
Partial Image Modes: Pixel binning and region of interest
Trigger In / Strobe Out : Trigger Modes 0 and 3, strobe output

  • Global shutter with simultaneous integration and readout
  • Near-IR performance provides NIR QE greater than 35%

  • IEEE-1394 OHCI PCI Host Adapter 3 port-400 Mbps card
  • CS-mount lens holder with 5mm spacer for use with C-mount lens
  • Male GPIO connector pre-wired for quick and easy access
  • Tripod mounting adapter
  • FlyCapture SDK (C/C++ API and device drivers) CD

  • 32-bit standard PCI slot for the IEEE-1394 card

  • Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 (to compile and run example code)
