FlyCapture® 2.0 Release 12 is out!

Thank you to everybody who has been part of our FlyCapture 2.0 Alpha and Beta testing program.

Point Grey™ Support is glad to announce that our first FlyCapture 2.0 release has been put on our website!

Feel free to download it and check out the new, simpler API and examples. If updating software from FlyCapture 1.X, FlyCapture 2.0 also has a translation layer which maps most of the old API functions to the new ones. Simply drop in the new pgrflycapture and pgrflycapturegui dlls into your existing application, and you are using the new FlyCapture 2 backbone.

Please check our FlyCapture 2 release notes and Errata for information on what is not yet supported or available in FlyCapture 2.0.

Planned Windows 7 support
------------------------------------------------------------

One of the large advantages of Windows® 7 is the ability to use the Microsoft stack to run in S800 speeds, unlike XP and Vista where the 1394b bus was limited unless using special downgrades or the FirePRO driver.

With the release of Windows 7, an article has been created regarding our planned support for Windows 7. While we have found that Windows 7 behaves similarly to Vista, there are changes in the firewire stack which need to be verified before we can fully support Windows 7.
