Point Grey endeavors to provide the highest quality service to our customers. As part of this commitment we are providing advanced notice of some upcoming product changes.
PCN2013001A - Addition of Plastic Screws in ACC-01-0003:
Additional screws are now provided in ACC-01-0003. The plastic screws are to be used plastic housing cameras. The metal screws are to be used with metal housing cameras.
PCN2012007A - M12 Micro Lens Holder Change:
The M12 micro lens holder used with board-level cameras is being discontinued by the vendor. A new M12 micro lens holder will replace the old lens holder once old stock has been depleted.
PCN2012004A - Flea2 & Flea3 Casing Material Change:
Point Grey will be changing the casing materials used in the Flea2 and Flea3 product family from zinc alloy to aluminum. The change will only apply to the front and back piece of the case but not the top piece.
PCN2012005A - FFMV & FMVU Flash Memory Change:
The Firefly MV product family has been upgraded with new internal flash memory. Products with new components are not compatible with firmware version 1.7.3 or older.
PCN2011011A - IR Filter Vendor Change :
The IR cut filters used with color cameras are being replaced with filters from a different vendor. The
dimensional and transmittance specifications provided to the vendor have not changed and hence
there should be no significant difference to the form or functionality of the filter.
PCN2011010A - Discontinuation of Multiclops and Censys3D SDK:
Discontinuation of Multiclops and Censys3D SDK. These products are no longer available for download. Support of these products will be limited to
customers currently using these products.
PCN2011008Av2 - Change to Camera FCC Labeling:
Change to Camera FCC Labeling. The Affected Part Number will have the FCC logo removed from both the labels on the camera and the packaging box.
PCN2011004A - Update of Physical Layer Chip:
The Affected Part Number(s) will have their physical layer (PHY) chip upgraded to the new revision.
This electrical enhancement is considered to be a minor revision with no impact on CE or FCC
emissions compliance, no impact on Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC), and no change to existing
functionality.
PCN2011003A - Change to ACC-01-0003 Tripod Mounts:
The material being used for the mount is being changed from an ABS plastic to polycarbonate. The nut-mounting is being changed from a press-fit nut to a nut integrated during manufacture of the product. The material of the nut itself is being changed from stainless steel to brass.
PCN2011002A - Change to Grasshopper Form-Factor Tripod Mounts:
The material being used for the mount is being changed from an ABS plastic to polycarbonate. The nut-mounting is being changed from a press-fit nut to a nut integrated during manufacture of the product.The material of the nut itself is being changed from stainless steel to brass. There is a minor change to the design of the mounting adapter
PCN2011001A - 1394b connector hole alignment notch:
The alignment notch is being removed from all sheet metal parts that have an IEEE 1394b connector hole. The new design removes the alignment notch, allowing the 1394b cable connector to be fully seated in the Affected Part Number’s 1394b receptacle. The previous design prevented the cable connector from fully inserting into the receptacle.
PCN2010009A - USB2 vertical connector change:
The Mini-B USB 2.0 vertical connector used by the Affected Part Numbers has changed. This change impacts the height of the connector off the camera printed circuit board. The new connector is 0.63 mm longer than the old connector.
PCN2009008A - Change to Grasshopper CE and FCC Certification:
As of the Planned First Ship Date, the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) certification of the Affected Part Number(s) will change from Class B to Class A. This change will be reflected in the part number description printed on camera packaging, all product marketing materials, and product EC Declarations of Conformity.
PCN2009009A - End of Life Notice for Scorpion SCOR-13FF CMOS Camera Models:
As part of Point Grey’s on-going product lifecycle management process the Affected Part Number(s) will be transitioned to “End of Life” status. Currently there are no alternate Point Grey products currently available with the same image sensor specifications as the Affected Part Number(s).
PCN2009007A - Change to CS-Mount Lens Holder Exterior Appearance:
As of the Planned First Ship Date, the exterior of the CS-mount lens holder used by the Affected Part Number(s) will no longer be anodized (painted) black. This mechanical change is considered to be a minor change that extends only to the appearance of the CS-mount lens holder, which will no longer be painted.

PCN2009002A - Discontinuation - Firefly MV Board-Level 1394a w/ M12 Lens Mount:
The Affected Part Numbers will be discontinued according to the dates outlined in this document. New “97” Point Grey part numbers will be created to allow qualified customers and OEM’s to purchase the board-level product with M12 microlens holder. This does not affect accessory (p/n ACC-xx) part numbers for the microlens holder or individual microlenses.
PCN2009001A - Discontinuation - Firefly MV Board-Level 1394a w/ CS Lens Mount:
The Affected Part Numbers will be discontinued according to the dates outlined in this document. New part numbers will be created and may be used as replacements for the Affected Part Numbers. These new part numbers will include a protective plastic case enclosure and tripod mounting adapter.
